Women Riders

A beautiful babe in a too-small bikini draped over a chromed-out chopper - that is unfortunately the stereotypical image of women on motorcycles. I talk to a lot of male motorcyclists and while most don't mind resting their eyes on the occasional babe on a bike, what REALLY turns them on is a gal actually riding bike - and not just any gal, the gal they are in love with.
I have been extremely fortunate. Kay, the apple of my eye for over 29 years, is an avid motorcyclist. She is my favorite all-time person to ride with. Up until 3 years ago she confined her riding to dirt, but after much gentle persuasion I coaxed her onto a street bike and life hasn't been the same for either of us since. Our vacations often consist of weekend rides to Arkansas and Missouri, while dreaming of rides in Europe and Australia.
A common question I hear from fellow male riders is "how can I talk my wife into riding". The good news is that women are the fastest growing segment of the motorcycle population. Manufacturers are recognizing this and making bikes and riding gear sized for women. In my opinion the best way to convince your significant other to ride is to ease them into it. Start on the dirt - that is the best place and less intimidating. Make it fun - don't go riding some difficult rutted single track, start with a dual sport bike and just do nice relaxing rides in rural areas or on easy trails. Stop often at small stores, visit out of the way places, don't pile up the miles like us macho guys like to do. Make sure the bike fits them and they have proper riding gear so when they inevitably fall down, they are well protected and don't get hurt. Practice patience and restraint, always be encouraging and supportive, and eventually you will have a life-long riding partner.
In my opinion, and in the opions of a LOT of guys I talk to, the sexiest, most attractive women around is your significant other that just pulled into camp with you from a day on the trail, her hair matted from the helmet and a great big smile across her dust-covered face.
