Oklahoma Gold Rush Paydirt

No gold was found in the dirt around Hallett, but the racing was fun, the conditions, although wet at first, turned out perfect as the race progressed. The overcast day brought showers for the start of the main event, but within 30 minutes the rain quit and the track turned nice and tacky, with no dust and some exciting racing.
The Hallett roadracing course made up about 1 mile of the 10 mile loop. The rain made for some slipper pavement, but no major accidents occured and everyone had a good time. We didn't see anyone hanging off in the turns, instead they were fighting for grip dirt track style, slipping and sliding over the wet pavement. The fall colors made an exciting backdrop to this popular event.
