Merry Christmas from everyone at Ride Oklahoma Magazine! Our first year anniversary is fast approaching and 2008 is looking like a very exciting year. Although it is cold right now, warmer weather is just a couple of short months away. We are already working on multiple stories for 2008. Our Christmas issue is out now and our next issue will be March 2008, just in time for the summer riding season.

I hope Santa brings you plenty of motorcycling presents under the tree! But most importantly, thank God for today's gift to us.

Ouachita Forest Management Plan update

The US Forest Service is ready to roll out their plan for the Ouachita Forest in SE Oklahoma and western Arkansas. The preliminary plan will be unveiled in early January 2008 and open for comments during that time.
Below is a letter received from the USDA regarding the forest plan. If you want to have a say in the future of our forests, be sure and read and become involved.

Yamaha DT-1

With the cold weather, ice and snow keeping me indoors, I decided to spend time photographing some classic motorcycles owned by Gerald Tims of Performance Cycle in Bethany, OK. The Ride Oklahoma offices are located in an 8,000 sq ft heated hanger/office at Wiley Post Airport, so we have plenty of warm space to set up lights and spend time taking motorcycle pictures.

This particular bike was made in 1968 and is a very fine example of the model. Bill Dragoo says he used to have one. I will post some comments from him soon.
