Ride Oklahoma July 2008

We are a bit late for the July 2008 issue of Ride Oklahoma Magazine. Emily, our talented Creative Director and magazine designer, had a family emergency the past two weeks that really threw the magazine behind. Her husband Adam Murray was seriously injured when he fell from an overpass onto I-44 in Oklahoma City. With over 40 fractures to his body and after 5 surgeries, he is just now starting to recover. Emily was out two weeks so this threw the magazine behind, but it should hit mailboxes right after the July 4 holiday. Sorry for the delay.
In this issue we highlight Monte Frank's custom chopper "El Privateer". This is cool mixture of old school hard tail chopper and high tech dirt bike and supermoto. A quite unusual mix for a bike.
Everyone's favorite writer Bill Dragoo offers another fun story about going with a bunch of "April Fools" for a dirt bike ride in Arkansas.
George Dotson entertains us once again with stories from his childhood in southwest Oklahoma, when he first had the opportunity to ride his brothers Cushman scooter.
This month features a new writer from Altus, David Grant. He tells us what is involved in getting a road racing license at Hallett.
And finally, Bill once again hits the mark wtih a love story. Yea, I know, but this one revolves around an 88 year old rider who has over 600,000 miles to his credit!
