Big Red Offroad Park

This past Sunday, Danny and I joined his nephew Luke for some mayhem at the Big Red Offroad Park in Macomb, Oklahoma. Luke and his two friends, Sean and Kevin, are probably half my and Danny's age, so it was quite a workout for us old farts trying to keep up with them, but we had a blast. Located south of the Tecumseh area and about an hour from OKC, Big Red features some pretty gnarly hill climbs, a flat track that's a real hoot, and some great trails through the woods and creek bottoms. It only costs $7 per day to ride there -- a real bargain!

Maintenance chores just got a little easier around here. Now if I could just afford a bigger garage!

A Wife Who Knows the Game...

...is a rare wife indeed!

My riding buddy Rich Desmond has such a wife. Ashley Desmond sent the following pictures to me this morning with a single caption: "Rich is the only guy I know who can crash while he is in his bed fast asleep."



Over 10,000 miles to Alaska and back with zero incidents, but Rich manages to dump his bike in the garage while he's sleeping. Too funny! Fortunately for Rich, when his 650 V-strom decided to fall off the lift, (a) the lift wasn't raised and (b) the bike fell right on the rear seat that Rich had recently removed from his van. Zero damage! Perhaps the bike saw the comfy bench seat there and just decided it needed a rest?

Hats off to Ashley for capturing the moment with her camera! Have we got her trained or what?

I'm heading out to the garage to check on my bikes now...
