Ghost Town: Fallis, Oklahoma (Part LAST)
That concludes my exploration of the Oklahoma ghost town Fallis. Why did the town die? Where did all the people go? Why did they leave so much behind?
The ghosts aren't talking...
Addendum: Just a few followups, compliments of Google...
This link will take you to an excerpt from the book Ghost Towns of Oklahoma by John Wesley Morris (source of the material I excerpted from the Abandoned OK website). It tells a bit more about Fallis, but still doesn't clarify the reasons for the town's demise.
Wikipedia has some brief information and census data for Fallis (pop. of 28 in the 2000 OK census).

That's weird how they just seem to have left in the middle of...well, doing stuff! Oh. We're leaving the house and everything in it. Oh, well.
Are you going to hit any more of those ghost towns? I was stunned at the number of ghost towns in Oklahoma. Damn.
Bob! Took me a minute to figure out who this was ... cool. Haven't heard from you in a million years or so. Checked your webpage -- congrats on the film option. Hope it gets filmed!
As for the ghost towns, I had hoped to get out again last week and check out a couple more, but it was either raining or terribly cloudy all week (not good for photos), then I went to Dallas for the weekend. Maybe this week, maybe even tomorrow, I'll ride out and see what else I can find. There are at least two others in the same area as Fallis.
Thanks for checking in Bob and taking the time to comment here.
It was kind of a fluke hitting this site. I was looking at ghost towns, then you know how the old Internet works. Ended up at your site.
Brian Hopkins??!! Cool. He's takin' his bike through one of those ghost towns.
Your photo journal of Fallis is about the best ghost town tour on the net, so far. There's one of a chick on a bike going through Chernobyl that's pretty good.
Bob, if you do some checking around in the motorcycle forums, you'll find that the Chernobyl thing is a well-documented fake, at least from the perspective of her actually riding a motorcycle through there. The whole thing was debunked years ago...
Ah! You know...when I first saw it I told my pal who linked me there that I thought it was a fake! Alas! He convinced me otherwise! Foolish me!
