Second Annual Motorcycle Safety Awareness Day at Capitol

Oklahoma City- The Second Annual Motorcycle Safety Awareness Day will be held on May 5th 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on the South Plaza of The Oklahoma State Capitol. May is National Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month and the purpose of this event is to promote motorcycle safety in conjunction with ODOT, OHSO, OHP, US Senate and House.

We hope to encourage riders to wear helmets and other protective gear, to be properly licensed and actively seek training. All motorists should participate in the “share the road” concept making the highways and all public roadways safer and more enjoyable for the motoring public.

Speakers will include the LT. Governor Todd Lamb, Directors of ODOT and OHSO, the Commissioner of the DPS, the Chief of the Patrol, and Senator Paddack. Please bring a non-riding friend or family member so they too can show their support for friends and family who ride. Come celebrate with us at the Capitol and do your part to help raise awareness. All Oklahoma media are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Trp. Scott Patton #575, Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Troop MC, office 405-425-2431 or cell 405-397-8389(ohpsaferiders@gmail.com).
